McAfee: Which McAfee version is supported

If an old scan engine is installed, you may run into problems with current signatures. The list of supported scan engines can be found at >www.mcafee.com/us/enterprise/support/customer_service/end_life.html. To install a recent engine on DEFENDO 4.2, the >McAfee Support Pack for DEFENDO 4.2 is required.

If your McAfee license grants you a right to update the engine you should do this. Otherwise we recommend to install a Kaspersky or F-Secure scanner on your DEFENDO. Please contact your DEFENDO dealer for further information. The engines of both scanners will be updated automatically along with the regular DEFENDO updates, so you don't have to bother anymore. In addition both scanners perform substantially better on DEFENDO.
