Email notification: An error occured while fetching mail
Emails with subject "An error occured while fetching mail" are sent by DEFENDO's scheduled mail retrieval. Whenever an error
occurs the administrator is notified by email. Please check the reason as indicated by the mail.
- Query status=3 (AUTHFAIL)
- User authentication failed for at least on account. In "Monitoring -> Mail server" the feature "Retrieve mails now" allows you to monitor the retrieval process. This makes it easy to find out which account caused the problem.
- Query status=2 (SOCKET)
- This message indicates a temporary failure which can have different causes. Some common reasons:
- POP server of provider overloaded
- Internet overloaded somewhere between DEFENDO and POP server
- dial-up connection failed
- hangup of dial-up connection while retrieving mail (consider increasing the idle timeout of the dial-up line)
